Qing dynasty, Qianlong four-character blue-enamelled mark and of the period,
    1736 - 1795
    Diameter: 15.0cm

This magnificent Qianlong bowl is delicately painted with four landscape scenes in ruby-pink enamel within stylized scroll borders against a vibrant lemon-yellow ground. The design and painting represent the height of sophistication and innovation found in porcelain design during the first half of the Qianlong period. This bowl was formerly in the collection of the famous American collectors Paul (1902 - 1998) and Helen Bernat (1908 - 1993) and was included in the Jubilee Exhibition of the Oriental Ceramic Society held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1971.
