Diameter: 37.3cm

This beautifully painted dish is incised on the exterior of the foot-ring with a Persian inscription which reads: ^cĀlamgīr Shāhī. This may be translated as ‘Belonging to ^cĀlamgīr Shah’ and most likely refers to the famous Mughal emperor and patron of the arts ^cĀlamgīr I (Awrangzib) (r. 1658 - 1707).
