Gogottes: unfolding time

This is the second exhibition at Eskenazi Ltd dedicated to these intriguing sandstone concretions discovered in the ancient sand dunes near Fontainebleau in northern France. The contrast between their apparently soft and billowy appearance and their crisp, pure white surface is compelling, as is the desire to read forms, patterns and faces in each of the formations. This exhibition of gogottes at Eskenazi Ltd is notable for fine examples, some of extraordinary size and complexity.
