    Of the well-known and much documented imperial kilns of the Song dynasty (960 - 1279), Guan or ‘official’ wares are amongst the most highly regarded by collectors, starting from the period of their production at the imperial Hangzhou kilns, to the present. This impressive blue-green-glazed stoneware dish was formerly in the celebrated collections of Edward T. Chow (1910-1980) and J. M. Hu (1911-1995).
