Yonezawa Jirō (b. 1956)

A native of Saiki, Ōita prefecture, Yonezawa Jirō’s early interests included self-sufficient agriculture and a period on a farm in Ōita, where he first encountered bamboo working. He studied at both the well-known bamboo training school and the research institute at Ōita.
