Tang dynasty, 7th - 8th century
Of unusually large size, this mirror is crisply cast with a pair of peacocks, a pair of lions and other birds and animals amid dense, scrolling grapevines. During the Tang period, mirrors were luxury goods enjoyed by members of the elite classes.
