Tang period, 618 - 907 Wearing an unusual headdress that is bound at the forehead and secured with ribbons at the back, this jade figure clearly represents a non-Chinese, possibly a Tocharian from Central Asia, reflecting the cosmopolitan nature of society during the Tang period.
